White and Silver Timeless Elegance at The Resort at Pelican Hill

One of my favorite weddings from last year was Brinah and Roy’s gorgeous day at The Resort at Pelican Hill. The day was filled with timeless elegance in white and silver tones – modern and romantic.

Claire Barrett Photography captured every moment and detail beautifully, while Custom Made Productions caught everything on film (scroll to the bottom of the post to see the amazing short trailer).

The bride selected a stunning tulle gown with lace and beaded bodice detail from Monique Lhuillier, Jimmy Choo pumps, and a custom veil by Maradee Wahl.

Every wedding day has its little emergencies – the trick is having a wedding coordinator who is prepared for anything and everything. For Brinah’s big day, the ring bearer pillow was forgotten. But what could have been an unfortunate detail that we had to live without, all was well. Our emergency kit carries a mini ring bearer pillow which I had the florist cover in fresh ivory and earl gray roses, and complete the look with silver satin ribbon.

Every bride should give careful thought to what she wears while getting ready on the morning of her wedding. It’s important to be comfortable, but cute, as the photographer will capture plenty photos of you and your bridesmaids that day. Brinah decided to wear a Dolce & Gabbana ivory silk camisol underneath a stunning French lace robe by Girl With A Serious Dream.

Design Visage beautified the bride and bridal party so gorgeously!

Bloom Box Floral Designs provided all the gorgeous florals and rentals. We wanted to keep everything very clean and elegant, and the Bloom Box team was able to capture that vision and make it a reality.

One fun detail that was a secret to everyone but the bride and groom, there was a confetti blast at The Kiss during the ceremony. What a fun surprise!

We created long elegant guest tables for the reception. Bloom Box provided clear crystal candelabras with elegant candlesticks, and varying height floral arrangements on mirrored pedestals to create dimension to the tables.

One important detail to both the bride and groom was the cake. However, it was something they couldn’t agree on! The bride loves Hansen’s and the groom loves Susie Cakes. So they decided to have both! The bride had her Hansen’s cake with the signature sugar roses decor detail, on a hanging cake stand. And the groom had his Susie Cakes with simple decor and a cake topper in honor of their beloved dog.

West Coast Music band James Gang provided the awesome entertainment that kept guests on the dance floor all night.

A few words from the Bride: “Evelynn is the best of the best! She is the most amazing, thorough, professional, greatest wedding planner you could ask for. She is honest, straightforward, thoughtful, prompt and an overall incredible person to work with. She pulled my wedding off flawlessly. She remembered every detail that was important to me and made sure everything came together with the resort and vendors. She truly made my wedding the best day of my life. I highly recommend her.”

Teal and Peach Modern Wedding at Vibiana

Myrna and Paul were a wonderful couple to work with. One of the biggest challenges were taking Myrna’s ideas, inspiration, desires and putting it together in a complete, cohesive and beautiful design. With colors ranging from pink, peach, and ivory to teal and silver, Myrna and Paul’s elegant wedding was spectacular.

Lin & Jirsa photographed the wedding and also captured every moment on video. Peachwood Floral Designs provided all the lush and colorful florals.

The festivities continued at Vibiana in Downtown LA. Chef Neal dazzled guests with a spectacular menu consisting of Watermelon Feta Salad and Steak with Chicken Succotash (who’s getting hungry?).

Cinderella Cakes created an exquisite cake with multiple designed layers and intricate design.

Intimate Romantic Wedding at St Regis Monarch Beach

As a wedding planner with lots of amazing weddings and fabulous clients, I don’t like to play favorites. But every once in a while, you get a couple that are just beyond wonderful. I started working with Christina-Ann and Ryan as they were well into their planning process, and I jumped right in. From the beginning, we clicked – the conversation was easy and they were amazing to work with. I loved being a part of it. I am so honored they entrusted me with their special day.

Christina-Ann and Ryan selected the stunning The St Regis Monarch Beach for their intimate and romantic wedding. With just a little over 40 guests in attendance, Christina-Ann and Ryan said their “I do’s” in front of their family, friends and the gorgeous California sunset.

Joe Latter Photography captured every moment, emotion and detail perfectly, while Royal Films captured everything on film (scroll to the bottom to see the short film).

What girl doesn’t love bling Louboutin wedding shoes?!

Square Root Designs providing the amazing floral and decor.

The bride remembered her late father in the most touching and sweet way: by attaching his photo to the bouquet she will be holding as she walks down the aisle.

I still get asked if a First Look is something couples should or shouldn’t do. And every couple is different. Some want to calm nerves before the ceremony, some want the anticipation buildup to last as long as possible. Some couples are pressed for time, while other want to take advantage of larger properties for photos. Whatever the reason, make sure you’re not doing it for anyone but yourselves. Talk about it together, and figure out whats best for the two of YOU.

Regardless if it’s in a private moment or at the altar of the ceremony, a groom’s sweet reaction as he sees his bride for the first time is absolutely priceless.

The ceremony took place on St. Regis’ Grand Lawn, overlooking the majestic resort pool, golf course and Pacific Ocean. Reverend Clint Hufft performed the beautiful ceremony to officially pronounce the couple as Husband and Wife.

As a pop of color, Christina-Ann wanted her bridesmaids to dress in elegant and bright yellow gowns. Comfortable yet tasteful, it was the perfect touch to this California wedding.

The reception took place at St Regis Club 19. couple wanted an elegant dinner feel to their reception and decided to opt for a gorgeous long table flooded with candlelight – clean and elegant. Chiavari Chairs 4 Rent provided the matching matte white chairs.

Twinfully Sweet provided the gorgeous cake, while Carcano DJ kept everyone dancing the entire night.

A few words from the Groom: “I will start by saying this may feel like a lengthy review, but as someone who just went through the wedding planning process I really think this is an important read. My wife and I currently live in NY, we had decided that we wanted a destination wedding in Southern California which left us in a tough position. Long story short on, we went online and found a wedding planner who TALKED a big game, we flew all the way out to SoCal spent 2 terrible days with a planner that did not follow through on ANY of the “promises” she made when speaking on the phone; it was terrible. At that point we realized we were no longer able to use her, discontinued our agreement (lost $2,000) and we were left in no better position than when we first started! In the interim we were trying to put everything together ourselves, it became really stressful (NOT how you are supposed to be during your engagement), finally we were recommended Evelynn! I cannot describe how different our experience with Evelynn was! After speaking and emailing back and forth, she followed through on more things in one week than our last planner had in 2 months. She was absolutely AMAZING! My wife loved her! She was extremely professional, attentive to detail, time sensitive, conscious of exactly what we wanted and SOOO much more. Our wedding was absolutely perfect, we literally had guests thanking us dozens of times over for being invited, there wasn’t one single thing I would have changed about our wedding, the day ran smooth without a single hitch. I really can go on and on about how wonderful she was but I will let the clip of our wedding speak for her gifted talent as a planner….. I cannot stress how IMPORTANT it is to have the right wedding planner, please take it from me, my wife and I experienced it all.”

Vibrant, Colorful and Modern Three-Day Indian Wedding Celebration

Indian weddings are extraordinary. Not only are they full of life, color and vibrant love, they usually last a few days – and who wouldn’t want to celebrate their wedding for a few days?! With unique decor, bold colors on some days and soft hues on others, this wedding was nothing short of beautiful.

Some of these photos are taken with an iPhone, while the others are by professional photographers Harvard Photography.

The Mendhi took place at Anoush Banquet Hall. Dhamaka Entertainment provided the music, Shahnawaz Restaurant provided all the catering, Peachwood Floral Designs provided all the florals and rentals, and El Canito Cigars were rolling fresh cigars for all the guests.

The Wedding took place at LAX Hilton. Same vendors involved; with Sarkis Bakery providing the beautiful cake, CMC Party Rentals providing the linens and rentals, and the Bruin Bhangra Performers mesmerized guests during dinner.

Modern Lavender Wedding at The Westin South Coast Plaza

It is always such an amazing thing when a bride becomes a friend. And that is so true for Bride Anoosheh.

It was so wonderful to design and plan Anoosheh and Arash’s wedding at The Westin South Coast Plaza. The couple wanted something different – clean and modern with a touch of elegance and classic tradition.

One of the first impressions your guests will have of your big day is the invitation. Sending out the right invitation takes great thought about being intentional with every detail and introducing your guests to what awaits them in a few months. For Anoosheh’s wedding, we decided on a clear acrylic invitation with classic fonts and layout. Simple and clean, yet modern with touches of tradition.

Tony Florez Photography and Rucci Films document the wedding day beautifully, while Design Visage beautified the bride.

The ceremony took place on the Waterfall Terrace. In traditional Persian wedding ceremonies, a sofreh is setup. The traditional sofreh is extremely elaborate and luxurious with extensive detail and decor. However, that design was the opposite of Anoosheh’s wedding design. So in order to keep the design and aesthetic cohesive throughout the entire wedding, we decided on utilizing mirror and acrylic pedestals and stands for the sofreh, with modern touches on the traditional items setup on the sofreh. We did the same with the floral design framing the sofreh. To keep the clean and modern design with traditional touches, Peachwood Floral Designs setup crescent-shaped floral arrangements in white ornate urns atop clear acrylic pedestals in varying heights to add dimension and depth to the ceremony decor.

Many times, the escort card table does not get given much thought, even though it is a perfect way to give guests a small glimpse into what awaits them in the ballroom. Without overdoing it, we wanted to add a small touch of the modern and clean design to the escort card table, and that was achieved by placing varying height cylinders with floating candles, atop clear acrylic pedestals and accents of rose blooms to tie the entire look together.

The ballroom was nothing short of magical. With the existing crystal chandelier in the Grand Ballroom of The Westin, we continued the elegant and clean design with a high gloss seamless white dance floor, clear acrylic chiavari chairs, light-colored linens, and utilizing glass and candles throughout the decor.

Each place setting was adorned with a silver charger plate (that looked much like a reflecting mirror), satin dupionique lavender linen, a clear menu card and a lavender rose bloom. It was the perfect way to complete the look of each table.

The gorgeous cake was provided by Simply Sweet Cakery atop a clear acrylic cake stand by Peachwood Floral Designs.

DJ Julius provided the lighting in the entire ballroom, the looped slideshow for guests to enjoy, and kept the dance floor full the entire night.

One special moment of this wedding day was that it was actually the groom’s birthday! Without making a big deal (he actually didn’t want it mentioned!), the bride surprised her new hubby with his favorite dessert – a Nothing Bundt Cake. It was a sweet little moment that will be cherished and remembered!

A few words from the Bride: “Thank God we found Evelynn!!! We hired Evelynn to be our wedding coordinator. We initially didn’t even plan to have a coordinator, but the hotel required one. After interviewing 4 other coordinators, we met Evelynn. Immediately after the interview, we were ready to hire her. If you’re looking for a detail oriented, prompt coordinator, you have to hire Evelynn. Not to mention, Evelynn works with many other vendors. When our flower vendor cancelled on us two weeks before our wedding, I almost had a heart attack. But Evelynn rescued us by finding another florist who ended up doing the most incredible work ever!!! She literally saved our wedding. Evelynn and her team did a tremendous job on the day of our wedding. We had about 240 guests, with about 95% of them being Persian. If you know Persians, you know they are hard to deal with because they don’t like to listen to direction. Evelynn and her team definitely handled them. After the wedding, we had many people come to us and tell us “This was the most organized wedding we’ve ever been to.” Evelynn made sure everything went as planned, all the small and large details were taken care of, and we (the bride and groom) were fully taken care of. These ladies are absolutely incredible and I would recommend them to everyone. My husband and I are extremely OCD and detail oriented. We are also extremely prompt (if not early). Evelynn and her team put us at ease because they were just like us and did everything without being asked. They had it all covered. If you want that extra stress off your shoulders for your wedding day and the planning, definitely call Evelynn! She’s worth every bit and more!!!”
